Our Roots

Benicia Tree Foundation is a citizen-led tree foundation. It is one of several community initiatives envisioned to improve the environment and create community beautification. It was founded by a coalition of individuals from the City’s Tree Committee, the California Native Plant Society, landscape industry professionals, and interested residents. Our initial funding came from the 2008 Good Neighbors Valero Improvement Project Settlement Agreement and the rest of our support comes from public support in donations, grants, or payment for services.
