80 Trees planted at Robert Semple Elementary School

Benicia Tree Foundation, in partnership with BUSD and the Semple Parent-Teacher Group has succesfully planted 80 trees at Robert Semple Elementary School as part of our Urban Forestry Initiative. Supported by a generous grant from California ReLeaf, BTF volunteers along with parents, teachers and students joined together over a series of volunteer work days planting trees at the Semple campus that will benefit Benicia students for generations to come!

Never Underestimate the Power of Kindergartners

Seventy-five kindergarten students at Joe Henderson Elementary School planted twenty-two trees on their campus as a part of a campus forestry initiative co-sponsored by the Benicia Tree Foundation (BTF) and the Benicia Unified School District (BUSD).

Henderson School Principal Carin Garton, three Kindergartner teachers, and more than a dozen parents supported the students’ efforts.

Cub Scout Pack 108 Leads Tree Planting Event

Benicia Tree Foundation held a tree planting in the Community Park on Thursday, October 13th, with the very motivated Cub Scout Pack 108 taking the lead. Pack leader Jeff Conner was there with Gretchen Burgess and many other Cub Scout Parents to support and witness the scouts plant a 24” box Strawberry (Arbutus) Tree near the playground area adjacent to the “Giant Slide.” The Benicia Tree Foundation and Pack 108 are donating the funds to plant the tree and will be recognized with a permanent plaque at the site.

2012 Tree Planting Season In Benicia Starts With Two Volunteer Events In January

The Benicia Tree Foundation (BTF) has partnered with the Benicia Unified School District (BUSD) to garner grants from California ReLeaf to plant 80 trees at Benicia High School (planted in 2011) and another 80 trees (to be planted this year) at Joe Henderson Elementary School.
